1. Tell us about yourself . . .
Hello, I’m Neil and i’m 34. I like to blog about many things from skin care to scents. Hair care to healthy lifestyle tips and products. My skincare posts are one of my favourite, working with natural skincare products and seeing the difference they can make to the skin. I also like to blog about products that have “hype” around them to actually see for myself if the products are actually true in their results rather than what the marketing states about them.
2. How did you first get into blogging? Who inspired you?
I started with blogging as I couldn’t find the answers to my skin care problems that I was experiencing. Spending money on a product that didn’t work and I saw no results from, I could then write my experience on my blog for someone to learn and save their money or make their own judgement from the product I have used whether that be a skincare product or a beauty product that has launched like a hair mask.
3. How would you describe your blogging style?
My blogging style is always factual in that I like to blog in detail about a product’s ingredients and how easy it can be used by anyone. I also like to write about the company who the product is by as the reader might not like that product I have blogged about but will be introduced to the companies range.
4. How do you come up with new and fresh ideas for your blog?
Anything can influence ideas, from magazines to spotting a new product that has launched to an advert that someone is sporting shiny hair so the journey begins to find products that can achieve that.
5. How do you make sure you always have time to blog?
I am also a person who likes to finish any task that is set for me, rather than just leaving a blog post to be finished. I do set a selected time each evening to blog, I think if you love to blog then u will find time that is right for you and your lifestyle.
6. Who are your top 3 bloggers
I don’t really have any top 3 as I like to read all different blogs that each has a different blogging style to them.
7. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to discover music, watching films and discover new products and brands I might not have been aware of.
8. How do you deal with negative comments and feedback about your blog?
I think any criticism can be turned into a positive as long as it’s coming from a good place and there is no malice.
9. What camera do you use to take your blog pictures with?
I only use my phone camera (Samsung galaxy) to take pictures. You do not need a high costing camera if you do not have the funds. Showing clear pictures of the products so the reader knows what to look for when purchasing is the most important.
10. For new bloggers. . . how do you find the money to fund your blog posts?
I would suggest joining a few websites that offer samples or approaching a company and ask if they could send some. Also look out for sales in shops and some pound shops have stock that is the latest product that has launched, your be surprised what you can blog about without spending a fortune.
11. How do you keep your readers interested?
Keeping readers interested is writing new content for your blog which comes down to your schedule.
12. What is the greatest satisfaction about being a blogger?
Discovering new products and learning about different ingredients that can make a difference from one product to another. Working with different brands on projects that once are completed is an achievement in itself but even creating a blog post
and putting content together and then publishing it on your blog site, any blogger should be proud of them self.
13. What is the best way to gain more readers on your blog site?
Writing content that is truthful whilst also describing in detail about a specific product and how they might benefit from it, they might just return to see what other products u have blogged about.
14. For anyone thinking about starting a blog of their own, what advice do you have for them?
I would say if u are thinking of starting a blog then you should go for it. You have to have a passion for what your blog is going to contain and what content you are going to write about, whether that be fashion, beauty or cars someone might just learn a few things from reading one of your blog posts and that can be very rewarding.
I want to say thank you to Neil for taking part and doing this interview. I loved reading it back! If you haven’t already you should check him out. I love reading his blog posts, they have helped me learn about new products and his reviews can be trusted!
